SUSTAINABILITY

Homes with a on average ‘A’ energy label

Sustainability has a firm place as area of attention within Amvest and the Fund. For example, we are the founders of the Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC) which, for that matter, is also a licence holder of BREEAM. But we do more. We support the sustainability policy of the Association of Institutional Property Investors in The Netherlands (IVBN) and we have our own sustainability strategy. Not just for the residential real estate funds that we manage but also as regards investments and in the form of Corporate Social Responsibility.

Looking ahead

Amvest has a long-term vision and strategy as a developer of, and investor in, housing. Sustainability is an integral part of this and for us it’s to do with more than reducing CO2 emissions. It should also be applicable to good operations reducing the overall environmental burden, raising quality of use and health aspects in management of the properties.

Proof

A vision and strategy consists of words, but Amvest has also turned these words into deeds. That’s why the housing in the Amvest Residential Core Fund has an on average ‘A’ energy label. We only use wood in our houses that has an FSC quality mark and, where possible, we install thermal energy storage systems in residential buildings. Energy consumption in our offices has decreased by 50% in comparison with a few years ago as a result of energy saving lights (LED) and office equipment.
