The Gouden Griffelbuurt is part of the VINEX Gouden Buurten site in Berkel and Rodenrijs. It is a neighbourhood with space and comfort that offers residents a real neighbourhood feeling. The area has future value because it is popular. People want to live there because of the great variety of housing designs that produce a unified character. This gives the neighbourhood both a lot of variation and strong cohesion at the same time. The development of the Gouden Buurten was carried out in phases and Amvest handed over the first properties in 2007.

Canals and avenues

We developed the Gouden Buurten together with Kavel Vastgoed and Amvest was responsible for the construction of 2,700 properties among other things. Approximately 15% of these were included in our lease portfolio. In addition to this, we were responsible for the details of the public area between the big access roads. We decided on an unusual urban development set-up with small clusters of housing interspersed with canals, avenues, small islands and green spaces.

Child friendly

The starting point for the housing designs in the Gouden Griffelbuurt was the traditional Dutch houses with gable roofs. However, the detailing of the houses varies, with the residents themselves influencing the choice of characteristic details such as the colour of the tiles and brickwork. The addition of playgrounds also made this a child friendly neighbourhood. The distinctive polder roads with ditches and rows of trees provide plenty of space for playing and cycling.
