Bataviahaven

Bataviahaven came about thanks to an idea from the illustrious Berlin architectural firm Krier & Kohl. The design team drew a fine, inclined semicircle on an inland harbour with two quays, which created an intimate, sheltered spot. The buildings curl along this and the different façades form a beautiful uniformity. There is a boulevard between the inland harbour and the buildings where the sun has free play and the wind gets less of a hold. The five parts of the Bataviahaven contain around 450 properties in total.

The regulated rental properties have been purchased by an Amsterdam housing association. The commercial premises were developed by ING Vastgoed and came about in close consultation with Amvest.

The Rotterdam skyline became even more impressive in the middle of 2006 because this is when the 103 metre high Coopvaert became a feature of the most beautiful skyline in The Netherlands.

De Admirant

The Admirant tower is part of the ‘Rond de Admirant’ area development which is a new, prominent, recognisable shopping street in the centre of Eindhoven. The tower is 105 metres high and is consequently a feature of Eindhoven’s skyline. The first four floors are offices and the parking spaces are included in the public car park under the tower.

De Compagnie

A unique aspect of this project is having the architect available for consultation. This means that future tenants can determine the layout of their houses themselves, in consultation with the architect. This is the first time that Amvest has used this approach in The Netherlands and it is a concept that fits with Amvest’s desire to realise rental and owner-occupied homes in accordance with the residents’ wishes.

De Harmonie

The old Dutch appearance of the façades is characteristic of De Harmonie where the individuality of the houses is emphasised by the variations in shape, colour, gutter height and roof construction. This approach shows that new-builds don’t have to be drab.
